Panama is emerging as a new commercial bridge for Mercosur companies

Panama’s recent incorporation into Mercosur is already having a positive impact on the country’s economy, highlighting the strategic importance of its logistics and maritime platform. South American companies have begun to expand their operations in the isthmus, recognizing it as a key point for re-exportation in the region.
In the words of Bianchi, a business representative, “South American companies see Panama as the ideal platform to reach markets in Central America and Latin America.” This perspective reflects the country’s potential as a commercial connection hub.
An example of this trend is Interborders, a company that has decided to expand its operations in Panama City with the aim of accessing markets in Central America and the Caribbean. This expansion reaffirms the relevance of Panama as a strategic hub for Mercosur companies.
Zoetic Refrigerants, specialized in sustainable solutions in the refrigeration sector, presented its intention to form an alliance with Grupo Friolín S.A., one of the main players in the Panamanian industry.
This collaboration aims to establish a plant in Panama for the production of refrigerant with its patented technology, which will allow the reduction of energy costs, depending on the type of cooling system.
This project is aligned with Panama’s vision of being a regional hub in technological innovation, while contributing to energy efficiency and sustainability.
On the other hand, Culture Organic, an organic production company, presented to the Minister of Commerce and Industry in charge, Eduardo Arango, an industrial project that aims to manufacture resins for plastic products derived from sugar cane bagasse.
This initiative not only supports the circular economy, but also seeks to replace conventional raw materials with renewable resources, contributing to the reduction of agricultural waste and plastics in the environment.
Minister Arango stated that both projects by the American companies are based on cutting-edge technologies that favor sustainable industrial development.
“It is a source of pride to see how international companies are trusting in the potential of Panama, a country that stands out for its economic stability, its logistics infrastructure and its commitment to innovation and respect for the environment,” said Arango.
