Panama signed agreements of assistance and humanitarian cooperation

In the framework of the opening of the Regional logistics centre of humanitarian assistance (CLRAH), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed agreements of cooperation and humanitarian assistance in cases of disasters in the countries of the region, with the address Executive project of integration and development of Mesoamerica (DEPM), the General Secretariat of the Andean Community (SGCAN), the Caribbean emergency agency for disaster (CDEMA) and the Coordination Center for the prevention of disasters in Central America) CEPREDENAC.

The signing of these agreements of cooperation, seeks to formalize the development and implementation of measures to strengthen the operational capabilities of Regional logistics centre of humanitarian assistance, in order to achieve the timely and effective coordination of humanitarian assistance to the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, before the occurrence of an event with consequences of emergencies or disasters, while clinching the Panamanian humanitarian diplomacy.

To sign these legal instruments, the Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Isabel de Saint Malo de Alvarado, said that in addition to the signing of these agreements, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will continue to contribute to the Center Logistic Regional humanitarian assistance, through participation in the humanitarian international agenda, as well as in national and international coordination of the assistance provided by Panama and the requested through international calls through our diplomatic missions abroad.

The signing ceremony was attended by Lidia Fromm Cea, Executive Director of the Mesoamerica project; José Antonio Arróspide Del Busto, Ambassador and Director General of the Secretariat General of the community Andean; Douglas Slater, under-Secretary-General for human development and Social of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), and José Agustin Donderis Miranda, President Pro Tempore of the Coordination Center for disaster prevention in Central America (CEPREDENAC).
