In 52nd place among 130 countries, Panama is better at developing and deploying talent than the rest of Central America, according to the 2016 Human Capital Report  of the World Economic Forum.

With 71 points out of 100, Panama placed third in Latin America after Cuba and Chile.

Nicaragua, last in the isthmus, scored 61.

Globally, Finland has the best human capital, while Mauritania is last.

The index takes a life-course approach to human capital, evaluating the levels of education, skills and employment available to people in five age groups, starting from under 15 to over 65 (number in brackets indicate overall position).
