New business era begins with Air China Flight

A new business era between Panama and the People’s Republic of China begins with the arrival of the new Air China flight, which intends to expand commercial and economic ties between both countries.

Carlos Dubois, Manager of Tocumen, SA, pointed out that a new route is more than a simple connection between two destinations, since it implies an investment for the airline Air China, major trade relations between both countries, to greater traffic of cargo and passengers, as well as the generation of direct and indirect jobs in many sectors of the economy. “Panama is the main hub of Latin America, connecting 84 international cities annually, with a traffic of 15.6 million passengers last year, accounting for 6% annual growth and 145,000 operations per year.” Tocumen is one of the world’s most efficient connection HUBS, connecting directly and indirectly more than 2,000 cities around the world, “he said.
At the end of this year, Panama will inaugurate the expansion of the Tocumen Airport that will allow you to cater to 25 million passengers a year. Currently, Air China operates more than 200 weekly flights to 12 destinations in America, including New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose, Hawaii, Vancouver, Montreal, Havana and Sao Paulo. The first flight with passengers coming from China will arrive on Sunday to the city of Panama.
