Line 2 of the Panama Metro to 82%

Line 2 of the Panama Metro is 82% complete and should be ready for its partial operation on January 15 in order to serve for the transfer of participants of the World Youth Day (WYD).
For that date it is estimated that 5 stations will be in operation, which can be used for transportation by all citizens.
More than 98 communities and 48 educational centers located along the 21 kilometers will benefit from this work that will be able to transport more than 500 thousand people who live in this sector.
Currently there are more than 35 construction fronts working 24 hours a day and seven days a week, in order to complete this work that will modernize the transportation system in communities such as December 24, Tocumen, Juan Díaz, San Miguelito, among many others.
Line 2 will have 16 stations and will be traveled by 21 trains that will mobilize more than half a million people.
For the construction of this mega project, a total of US $ 1,800 million is invested and more than 5,300 direct and indirect jobs have been generated, 40% of them are residents of the areas surrounding its construction.
