Information investment center at Tocumen Airport

Tocumen International Airport was the place selected to establish a new kind of interactive information center called the “Gran Conexión” (Great Connection) which shows Panama’s competitive advantages in both tourism and investment. The agency for the promotion of investment, Proinvex staff and personnel of the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP) will be working side by side.

The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Augusto Arosemena, pointed out that with this campaign a new phase to show Panama as the best option for foreign investment and tourist destination in Latin America has been started.

First of all Panama is promoted as a destination for the international traveller who is looking for a unique place which offers a new kind of experience. The culture, landscape and adventure of the country are being promoted to make the Isthmus into a different and unforgettable place.

Secondly, during the launching of the campaign, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that the center offers a multimedia space to promote Panama, highlighting the country’s advantages with regards to commerce, taking advantage of the more than 15 million tourist, executives and potential investors who go through Tocumen Airport, the most important gateway to the nation, which has the largest number of connections in the region.

“Promoting tourism and promoting investment in Panama are equally important, because both economic activities contribute a great deal to economic growth and employment generation,” said Arosemena.

The Minister added that the center will facilitate the contact with Proinvex staff, the agency whose mission is to promote investment in Panama. They will be able to give specialized advice to those interested in the special tax legislation for companies and individuals that come to operate or invest here and the comparative advantages that Panama offers. Personnel of the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP) will also be at hand showing visitors interesting sites that they may like to visit.

The center is located on the north terminal, store C2-145, of the Tocumen International Airport and is open seven days a week from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. everyday.
